St. Thomas More School of Law and Business was duly authorized to operate a law school and provide legal education under Government Recognition No.3 Series of 2012. Legal education refers to a professional educational program that cultivates and imparts an understanding of the law, its articulation in jurisprudence and the administration of justice. It is a post-baccalaureate degree program and includes both basic law course as well as graduate courses in law.
The legal education provided by St. Thomas More School of Law and Business to its students was previously under the Bachelor of Laws (Ll.B) program but recently, it shifted to Juris Doctor (J.D) in compliance with the mandate of the Legal Education Board.
The applicant for this program must have obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Arts or Sciences, or a higher academic degree, from an authorized and recognized university or college in the Philippines. In further compliance with the requirements set forth by the Legal Education Board (LEB), the applicant must have completed at least eighteen (18) units of English, six (6) units of Mathematics (three (3) units of Algebra and three (3) units of Trigonometry), eighteen (18) units of Social Science (Political Science, Anthropology, Economics and Taxation) and three (3) units of Rizal.
The applicant shall likewise be required to submit the following documents:
1. Original or certified true copy of collegiate transcript of records;
2. Duly authenticated Certificate of Birth;
3. Certificate of Good Moral Character from the school last attended; and
4. Three (3) 2×2 size I.D. picture.
